Full Name: Ion Samuel Rose

His hyacinth-purple eyes were an in-born gift from his father, as a sign of his precognition and basic photokinetic abilities.
He’s normally seen in band t-shirts and black skinny jeans. His choice of footwear is a rainbow of converse. His wrists are adorned with bracelets of every color and size and he has a Celestial Bronze ring on his left middle finger.
Playby: Colin Ford
Sexuality: Pansexual
Olympian Parent: Apollo
Mortal Parent: Freya Rose
Personality: Due to constant bullying, he developed manic depression at a young age. No one actually picked up on that because of his natural acting ability. He was never seen without a smile, before he came to camp. Now his swings into mania or depression can be more severe and can even last weeks. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch one of his manic swings, during these he can be seen with a beaming smile and may or may not start singing randomly.
Even with his depression, he has deeply rooted passions in music and other creative arts. At his school, he was a member of the band, choir, writing, art, and drama clubs. Most people wouldn’t have time, but he wanted to keep his schedule packed, to avoid the sad empty feelings he sometimes got. His capacity for passion spills over into anything he does and, if he has to, he will fight for his passions.
His capacity for passion makes him a hopeless romantic, which is probably not good for him. Some would say that this is his fatal flaw. Once he falls for someone he can see them as his everything, his light, his happiness. This can lead to manipulative and controlling relationships.
He enjoys archery, like most children of Apollo, but also enjoys using Tarot cards to aid his divinity. One of his favorite pastimes is selling readings to campers who want advice. Most of his readings are accurate but once in a while they can go awry.
History: Ion’s mother was nurse at a small hospital and in her off-time she was in her church choir and, when she was young, wanted a singing career. These traits made her a perfect candidate for Apollo’s affection. Apollo came to her as a young doctor fresh out of medical school and spent a few months wooing her until they fell madly for each other. Apollo wasn’t able to stay long after Freya found out she was pregnant and she was devastated when he left.
Freya and Ion were incredibly close up until he was around ten, when things took a turn for the worse. Freya learned that Ion had precognitive and photokinetic abilities when she walked in on him while he was in a psychic trance. During this he was emanating a slight purple aura. For the next three years Freya and Ion grew apart, as she began to avoid him.
Once Ion noticed that his mother no longer cared for him, his depression grew worse and he constantly asked if he could move in with his aunts in New York. After years of asking Freya finally sent him to live with her half-sisters on his fifteenth birthday. His aunts welcomed him with open arms even though they knew about his powers. For the next few weeks he lived there happily.
Then one day he decided to walk into this little new-age shop near his apartment. When he walked in a woman, with eyes that could only be described as obsidian, greeted him. He was shocked by her appearance but continued in. She led him over to a table and asked if he wanted her to deal the deck. He, of course, said yes. She immediately went to work and pulled out three cards, the ace of swords, the High Priestess, and the Sun.
The woman let out a shrill laugh, “Of course, I knew you were special but I did not know just how special. A child of the Sun. For a moment I thought you might be one of mine.” She put the cards back in the deck and began to usher Ion out. Ion went willingly and just as he was leaving she pressed the deck into his hands, “Think of it as a gift.”
Ion rushed home immediately. That night he had a vision of arriving at Camp Half-Blood after his aunts were attacked. He woke up to the sounds of screaming. He instinctively grabbed the Tarot deck off of his night stand and attached to it was a Celestial Bronze ring. He slid the ring on and rushed out of the apartment bolting past the carnage.
The next few hours brought him to the gates of Camp Half-Blood.
Weapons: He has a Celestial Bronze ring which can transform into a bow, sword, or guitar at will. The guitar can be used to create magical music which can tune into people’s emotions. In its bow form he can use his photokinesis to create arrows of light.
